Two New Financial Support Measures Starting November 2025 – Who are the Beneficiaries

The Greek government has announced two new permanent support measures, which will be implemented every November, starting from 2025. The goal is to provide substantial relief to low-income households and vulnerable social groups, such as low-income pensioners and people with disabilities.

✅ Rent Rebate

Approximately 948,000 households will receive a rent refund equal to 1/12 of the annual declared rent, with a maximum amount of €800 for the primary or student residence. For each child of the tenant, the amount increases by 50 euros.

Indicative Criteria:

• Income up to €20,000 (singles), €28,000 (married) + increases for children.
• Assets up to €120,000 for one person + €20,000 for each additional member (only for primary residence).

The payment will be made automatically, without an application.

✅ €250 Allowance for Pensioners

Approximately 1.44 million beneficiaries will receive an annual allowance of €250, by November 30th.

Beneficiaries:

• Pensioners over 65 years old with an income up to €14,000 (singles) or €26,000 (married).
• People with disabilities and uninsured seniors receiving social benefits.
• Assets up to €200,000 (singles), €300,000 (married).
